Wanderers upset Montego Bay Wednesday, September 24, 2008
New Jersey:
Wanderers Sports Club snapped defending champions Montego Bay Cricket Club 12 games winning streak as the sixth round of the Garden State Cricket League concluded last Sunday.
At Warinanco Park: Wanderer’s skipper Damian Morgan won the toss and invited Mobay to take first strike in overcast conditions. Mobay batsmen were cruising at 175 for 2 at the end of 30 overs, before they collapsed and were dismissed for 225 off 39.3 of the allotted 40 overs. The batting was built around solid knocks by former Jamaica youth players Glenmore Hall 85 and Rashard Marshal 61. Bowling for Wanderers Damian Morgan took 3 for 42, Carl Wright 2 for 44 and Christopher Vassel 2 for 24.

Needing to score at a rate of over 5 runs per over, Wanderers lost an early wicket as Owen Earle was run out for 4 with the score on 21.
Former Jamaican national player, Carl Wright, and Jeweran Schurman took the score to 101 before Churman was out for 29.
Fortunes sway from side to side before Wanderers pulled off an exciting victory with one over to spare as they finished on 226 for 7. Wright was the top-scorer with 79, while Jason Nelson made 50 and Ernie Vidal. The most successful bowlers for Mobay were Basil Gayle 3 for 42 and Lennox Cush 2 for 49.
unity loss
At Weequahic Park: Unity lost to home team Eclipse in a close encounter. Batting first Eclipse made 217 for 8 off 35 overs with Colin Stoddart making 80 and skipper Tony Powell 42.
The main wicket takers for Unity were Duane Llewellyn 2 for 37, Ralston Gillings 2 for 30 and Leanord Kerr 2 for 34.
In reply Unity was bowled out for 192 as Gillings made 68 and John Scott 28 against Oniel Richards 3 for 28 and Gavin Wallace 2 for 25.Over at Westside Park Shawnee 240 for 8 beat East Orange 135 all out.
